Julia Brownell is a U.S. Policy Assistant at the Center for Global Development in Washington, D.C. She graduated from the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy in 2025 with a B.A. in Public Policy and a minor in Spanish. While at the Ford School, Julia focused on international development and human rights. Prior to joining CGD, she interned in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and USAID's Bureau for Asia. Julia grew up in Washington, D.C. and Geneva, Switzerland.
