This White House and the World Policy Brief presents key facts and recommendations drawn from Chapter Five of The White House and the World: A Global Development Agenda for the Next U.S. President.

The United States has played a leadership role in the fight againstglobal corruption, and there are many reasons to be hopefulabout this effort. Nonetheless, corruption continues to seriouslyimpede development efforts around the world, and the criticaltask of combating it will require both long-term commitment andstrong support from the next U.S. administration.
