Hanna Dooley is a Research Assistant for the Gender Equality and Inclusion program at the Center for Global Development. Prior to joining CGD, Hanna spent six years in applied policy roles, including supporting high-impact research on African development in areas such as digital infrastructure, trade, and technology adoption in low- and middle-income countries, as well as working in higher education policy and advocacy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Arizona State University and a Master's in Economic Policy for International Development from the London School of Economics, where her dissertation used a difference-in-differences econometric method to examine gendered labor market responses to school closures in Brazil. During her time at LSE, she also served as Editor-in-Chief of the International Development Review journal. Her research interests lie at the intersection of feminist economic policy and international development.
