Kia Muleta’s passion for international development and human rights is rooted in her experiences in Ethiopia, her birth country, which have continued to energize her passion for women entrepreneurship and micro, small, and medium enterprise development across Africa as well as climate change and peace and reconciliation. In addition to her experiences in Ethiopia, agricultural, healthcare, and education development internships in India, Nigeria, Uganda, and Ethiopia have inspired her interest in the intersection of macroeconomic research and social impact. She is also the co-founder of a startup organization that holds roundtable discussions with historians, journalists, and politicians on the socio-political state of the Horn of Africa. Kia recently graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in African History and completed a thesis on the Biafran War and the Ethiopian Revolution. She hopes to get her JD/MBA in a few years.
