Nico Martinez is a Research Assistant in the Sustainable Development Finance team at the Center for Global Development in Washington, D.C. He recently completed a Master’s in International Relations/Political Science at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, following a Bachelor’s in Global Affairs from Yale University. Prior to CGD, Nico interned at the UN Population Fund, analyzing Voluntary National Reviews, and at the UN Development Programme Insurance and Risk Finance Facility (IRFF), researching inclusive insurance solutions. He is interested in direct and participatory democracy and is passionate about creating more inclusive governing institutions, especially in the area of development finance.
