Your contribution makes it possible for the Center’s researchers to devise practical, evidence-based solutions for today’s most pressing development challenges.
The global health landscape has become increasingly fragmented, characterized by a multitude of organizations and initiatives that complicate the system of health financing. The result is a heavy burden on aid-recipient countries, often straining their resources and capacities. As more low- and middle-income countries grapple with tight budgets and increasing health needs, the current system is proving unsustainable.
CGD is engaged in research which attempts to dissect the factors contributing to these challenges and proposes policy solutions aimed at reforming the current landscape—from minor adjustments that could create a fairer and more efficient system to more fundamental changes that envision a comprehensively formed global health architecture.
