Each year, women and men come together across continental, cultural, economic and political lines to celebrate International Women's Day, promoting women's political and social rights and recognizing a history of progress, with celebrations across the world. The Center for Global Development will bring together these prominent women leaders of policy and research institutions to reflect on both their experiences in leadership as well as their perspectives on issues facing women across the globe.
Speakers were Nancy Birdsall, President, Center for Global Development; Geeta Rao Gupta, President, International Center for Research on Women; Jessica Mathews, President, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; Jennifer Windsor, Executive Director, Freedom House; and moderator Kathleen Schalch, Reporter, National Public Radio.
