The Strugglers: Insecurity in the 21st Century

This online event is hosted by UN DESA and features CGD senior fellow and president emeritus Nancy Birdsall.

Dr. Nancy Birdsall will discuss the plight of the “strugglers”; the billions of economically insecure people who live above the poverty line but far from the more secure middle class. She will also discuss how countries can pay greater attention to the needs of the strugglers in the design and implementation of social and economic policies, especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
