Witold Więcek PhD is a biostatistician working in global health, epidemiology, and development economics. He is a Consulting Director at Development Innovation Lab at University of Chicago, where he directs statistical research and works with the lab’s founder Michael Kremer on interventions to improve water quality.
He is also an advisor and consultant for several NGOs, academic groups and donors, attempting to make evidence synthesis methods and Bayesian inference more accessible to social scientists and decision makers.
Witold also works on fractional dosing/optimisation of vaccines, accelerating vaccine supply, and supporting human challenge trials. In 2020 he was awarded an Emergent Ventures prize for his work on COVID. Previously, Witold spent over ten years working as a consultant biostatistician.
