The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is at an important juncture as Richard Feachem completes his tenure as the first executive director and the Global Fund evolves from an innovative start-up to a mature organization. Feachem and Ambassador Mark Dybul, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, discussed the most critical challenges in this new phase and addressed how the Global Fund and the U.S. President's Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), two of the biggest HIV/AIDS funders, will coordinate their activities as the fight against the epidemic intensifies.
Sebastian Mallaby of the Washington Post moderated the lively conversation and Steve Radelet, Senior Fellow, Center for Global Development, served as a discussant.
