Two Continents Divided By a Common Vision of International Development: Europe and North America

Simon Maxwell is the Director of the Overseas Development Institute, an independent British think-tank with a focus on international development and humanitarian policy. Prior to this, he worked overseas in Kenya, India and Bolivia, and spent fifteen years at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. He has written extensively on poverty, food security and aid and is the current President of the Development Studies Association of the U.K. and Ireland. Mr. Maxwell will discuss how Europeans and Americans view their own and each others’ strategies on development, suggesting possibilities for creating stronger connections. Todd Moss of the Center will serve as disscustant to Mr. Maxwell's remarks.
