Adapt: Why Success Always Starts with Failure

Featuring
Tim Harford
Financial Times

Introduction and Commentary by
Owen Barder
Center for Global Development

The Center for Global Development is pleased to host Tim Harford for a private discussion about his new book, Adapt: Why Success Always Starts with Failure.  Drawing on lessons from psychology, evolutionary biology, anthropology, physics and economics, and weaving in compelling examples and stories, Tim argues that today’s challenges cannot be addressed with expert opinion and ready-made solutions.  He maintains that this approach is directly relevant to many of today’s most important global challenges, including economic development, preventing climate change and tackling terrorism.

Tim Harford previously worked at the IFC and is now a writer at the Financial Times. His previous books include The Undercover Economist and The Logic of Life.  He also presents the popular BBC radio program on statistics, More Or Less.
